- Sheri Haby
Sheri Haby Architects began in 2013 with a simple, quiet wish – to design homes that feel happy to live in forever. There are no cookie-cutter or trends followed here; just beautifully functional and flexible homes that are no bigger than they need to be but deliver light, breeze, views and special moments that surprise and delight.
Founder, Sheri Haby grew up with a natural affinity for mathematics and creative art. A profession in architecture was the perfect fit, along with her passion for sustainability, inspired by a childhood spent outdoors playing sport and camping. As a student, sustainability was front and centre of the design brief, informing material choices and preserving heritage. Sheri believes that architecture can be transformative, and that everyone deserves good design – a philosophy she is proud to deliver for her clients.
“A lot of people think architecture is for the wealthy, and that’s not true. A flawed design or orientation is often irreversible, but you can do more with less to create a house that works incredibly hard.” – Sheri Haby.
ABOUT SHERI HABY ARCHITECTS
“Everyone deserves good design.”
What I value
Rich materiality – I believe in quality over quantity every time, with a deep respect for products sourced from our environment, such as natural timbers and stone. My projects are carefully crafted for you to live in peacefully.
Design mission – With a waste-not-want-not philosophy, I believe in doing more with less and that bigger is often not better. But I celebrate those little pockets of joy in your home too, because a happy home is one that lasts.
Treading lightly – Taking cues from Australian architect, Glen Murcutt, I believe in leaving the planet in a better shape than we found it, and that everyone should be able to access the transformative power of good design.
