FEASIBILITY STUDY

Should I Rebuild or Renovate?

Gain clarity before you commit.

Every successful project starts with clarity. Our Feasibility Study is designed to give you clear direction on your space, your budget, and your timeline before you make any major decisions.

Starting a renovation or rebuild can feel overwhelming. Homeowner clients often come to us frustrated by specific problems with their home, unclear on costs, or how long things take.

The layout doesn’t quite work. Daily routines feel harder than they should. The space no longer reflects your lifestyle or your family’s needs. You start asking, Do we renovate, rebuild or move?

Without clear guidance, it’s easy to head down a path that leads to budget blowouts, planning issues, or disappointing results. You don’t have time to become an expert in architecture, planning regulations, consultants, and construction, and you shouldn’t have to. That’s where we come in.

Let’s future-proof your house

I love working with clients like you to adapt and renovate or redesign your home so you can live there happily for a long time to come.

A Feasibility Study is the perfect project starter where we take a deep dive into your site. It is my favourite thing about working with you, when we get to nut out the problem areas and imagine the way your house could work, getting the most out of what you have.

You might be surprised what’s possible without dramatically increasing your footprint:

  • A clever layout that improves flow and functionality

  • Efficient design that reduces construction and long term running costs

  • Flexible spaces that adapt as your family grows

  • Thoughtful orientation to draw in the sun to create a bright, welcoming home

  • A home that feels calm, functional, and truly yours

How the Feasibility Study works

We begin with an on-site meeting where we walk through your home together, identify challenges and establish a design brief.

From there, we develop a clear picture of what’s possible.

What’s included:

  • Initial site visit and briefing

  • Review of statutory planning (Council) controls and guidelines

  • Analysis of site opportunities and constraints

  • Initial enquiries with our trusted network of local builders and reliable consultants, where required

  • Sketch plans (2) to explore possibilities

  • Opinion of probable costs for each option

  • Second meeting in our studio to discuss the report and next steps

The benefit of an architectural lens

  • No double handling

By addressing the big questions early, you reduce the risk of costly rework later. A well considered masterplan establishes a clear vision from the outset, saving time, money, and stress - especially for staged projects, where careful planning ensures each phase aligns seamlessly with the next.

  • We challenge your thinking

We’ll test your ideas to ensure they’re practical, achievable, and aligned with your goals — helping you confidently decide whether to renovate, extend, rebuild, or subdivide.

  • Significant risk reduction

We identify potential issues early — from planning regulations to site constraints and budget risks — so you can make informed decisions before they become expensive problems.
